Shadow Yoga II

The Shadow Yoga II is designed for students who have been exposed to the principles of Shadow Yoga and would like to continue their study. Shadow Yoga II builds upon what was learned in Shadow Yoga I, linking sequences together to complete the Shadow Yoga Preludes. With this material in hand (mastery is not necessary), students have a good foundation upon which to build. Shadow Yoga II practices include specific arrangements of postures (asana angahara), information about the systems of marma and vayu, breathing techniques, meditative activities, and introductory prayers.

Who should take Shadow Yoga II classes?

Shadow Yoga II classes are the next stage of progression for those with some experience in Shadow Yoga I, or anyone who has worked with a Shadow Yoga teacher elsewhere. Familiarity with the introductory material (taught in Shadow Yoga I) uncovers new dimensions of awareness. While the physical practice deepens at this stage, the energetic systems such as marmasthana (energetic junctions) and vayu (energetic currents) are also introduced. As a result, students begin to understand the underlying systems that affect the organic structure.

Community Sangha

Sangha traditionally referred to a gathering of like-minded people, and we have revived this tradition at Continuum Shadow Yoga Studio. Scheduled for one Friday per month, this free, open forum is intended for anyone interested in the philosophy of yoga and its application in everyday life. The discussion centers around a topic of interest such as non-harming, cultivating contentment, etc., and you can share as little or as much as you like. No dogma, no prerequisites, just come as you are.
